Soldier crab (Dotilla mytiroides)
These little crabs are very shy and to see one, you need a lot of patience.
Usually, all you see of them are the intriguing balls that they leave outside their burrows.
Grey balls indicate that there is mud below a thin layer of sand.
These crabs have a row of silky hairs on their abdomen which they use
to absorb water from wet sand. They shift through the sand for tiny edible titbits.
