'In Episode 8, Sue-Lyn takes Magdelene into Singapore's last remaining rainforests, discovering Flying Lemurs and Flying Lizards. The girls also discuss the importance of preserving these green corridors. On the night shift, Felicia takes Magdelene into Singapore's Central Catchment Area, to Check Jawa in Pulau Ubin. Its the only area left in Singapore that has rocky shore, seagrass, sandflats and coastal rainforest all in one area. They find find hermit crabs, wild boar, fighting mudskippers, among other things.
At the end, the girls will have unveiled a Singapore previously unheard of. A land rich in nature, and home to a remarkable variety of wildlife that has been able to adapt in different degrees, to life in an urban environment. Magdelene too, will have come away far more prepared for perhaps the most challenging and demanding FIVE DAYS mission of them all - to come face to face with the elusive and almost extinct Asiatic Lion of India, in a strange land of burning deserts, tribal customs and harsh climatic conditions.' - Source: Arts Central |
