She begins with a recent clip of a Tigertail Seahorse of the Pulau Sudong wreck.

Once upon a tree premieres on Wednesday 2nd August 2006

Category : tvradio

"Once upon a tree" premieres on Wednesday 2nd August 2006 on Arts Central, 9.30pm. In this week's episode, they explore Fort Canning Park and the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and look at the tree as a habitat and meet aborist Hamid Mohd from NParks.

See NParks Media Release, 22 April 2006.

From Arts Central -

Trees are one of the oldest lifeforms on Earth, used in many forms of human activity and appear in all kinds of stories around the world. The upcoming 8 part production of ONCE UPON A TREE investigates our tree heritage, which is intrinsically connected with our local community and history.

Join plant biologist Professor Shawn Lum as he takes us on a journey of the human story and the science story. The series delves into personalities responsible for their conservation and their reasons why. It looks at the people, animals, insects and other flora/fauna that rely on these trees for protection and survival. We investigate why these trees are remarkable in their own way. All in all it shows how intrinsically connected we all are with trees, and why we need them for our future.

Stories about trees persist locally but they have often not been documented.

We are seeking your tree story. If you have a story to tell, send it to: onceuponatree@artscentral.sg
