Category : events

The scientific programme and timings are available at the Biology in Asia webpage. It is continually updated until the the official programme is released. But enough for to decide which alternative sessions to attend.

Select Books under new management

Category : books

Lena Lim and Nancy Chng of Select Books have penned a farewell note but introduce a new team.

I had first heard of this bookshop at Tanglin Shopping Centre in the early 1990's when I began searching for Southeast Asian natural history books. I was looking for nuggets of information on otters; and no fact was too scarce. The books I acquired during that period now service Raffles Museum visitors and volunteers when they conduct research for guiding or articles.

Select was a gem for nature books and they went online with an elegant webpage relatively early. When Ria Tan completed the print to web project for the mangrove guidebooks in 2001, Select was one very few sites we were able to refer overseas buyers to. In fact, I just checked, and theirs is the only valid link left!
