Female: posterior view
Remains immobile with legs retracted close to the body in the daytime.

Sits in the centre of a vertical web at night. The web is rebuilt every evening.
Classification: Family Araneidae, Orb-Web Spiders.
Habitat: Jungle tracks, gardens.
Female: 12 mm.
Male: 4-6 mm.
Distribution: Singapore (new record), Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, India, Japan.
