Eyes on top of head, mouth inferior, pelvic fins united into a disc, upper jaw with 2 rows of teeth, first dorsal fin dusky with a narrow white rear margin, brown with a black stripe from eye along upper side. Amphibious, carnivorous, solitary along mangrove creeks and prawn ponds. To 27 cm.
