Snout pointed, upper half of pectoral fine base with black triangular blotch; males: blue stripes on head, yellowish-brown spots on body, blue submarginal band on tail fin; females: brown and greenish-blue stripes on head and sides, dorsal fin with
white-margined black spot on middle, a similar spot on upper tail base. In groups over sandy and silt bottoms in reefs. To 12 cm. Popular aquarium fish.
