Body slender, 4 filaments under pectoral fin to tip of pelvic fin, silvery grey above to
silvery or yellowish white on sides. Along coast including estuaries; feeds on prawns, fish and polychaetes. To 1.6 m. Often used for human consumption, often reared in floating cages for market.
