Haemulidae


Lips swollen, adults whitish with brown spots over fins and upper body, juveniles brown with large white blotches containing small brown spots. Juveniles tend to be solitary, but adults school over reefs. Feeds on benthic organisms. To 60 cm. Often used for human consumption, popular aquarium fish.
