Thanks to three cohorts of guides for 12 years of fine work!
Questions, questions, questions!

Meeting point and time - Pulau Ubin Volunteer Hub at 8.30am - we meet rain or shine! You have to take the Ubin ferry at 8am latest in order to have enough time to pick out a bicycle and meet us in front of the Ubin Volunteer Center.

Your guides will be at Changi Point Ferry Terminal at 8am in order to be on time. You can follow the guides in at that time.

To get to Changi Village/Jetty:

  • From Tanah Merah MRT, take SBS Bus No. 2 to Changi Village (bus terminal) OR
  • from Tampines Bus Interchange, take SBS No. 29. It passes through the village; do ask the bus driver where to alight.
  • SBS Nos 59 (from Bishan) and 109 (from Serangoon Central) also reach this bus terminal. To see all buses that reach this area, see Singeo's bus stop map mashup.
  • Note that Changi Point Jetty is in Changi Village: walk down Lorong Bekukong - the road behind the bus interchange/hawker centre.
  • If you are driving, parking spaces are available at Lorong Bekukong, behind the Shell petrol station.

Why so early? - It takes half-hour to reach Ubin and choose a bicycle so we set off at 8.30am. This allows us to enjoy the cool morning air a little. And after four hours of fun, its time for lunch!

Bicycle rental is available soon after you turn left after leaving the jetty. There are several bicycle kiosks between the jetty and the village center. Whole-day rental costs between $3-$5. You have to check the brakes, gears and other parts of the bicycle - cycle around the village until you feel everything is working, and you are comfortable with the bike height and saddle. Get help from the guides and the shop owner if you need help.

What is the ride like? - There is no itinerary or fixed route as it depends on your guide. See testimonials or this gallery for an idea.
