In celebration of the anniversary of the official opening of Singapore's first wetlands reserve at Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve, the Raffles Museum Toddycats conduct a free guided walk for the public every year.
This year, on the 15th anniversary, we are adding an exciting talk by Otterman ("Adventures in the Mud!") as well as an examination of mangrove specimens from the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research so that visitors will appreciate the morphology and adaptations of mangrove denizens!
And we will hold this over two days! The mornings of 6th (Saturday) and 7th (Sunday) of December 2008.

Who is this walk for?
Anyone, even children. The relaxing walk will be conducted in the vicinity of the Visitor Centre - main bridge, main hide, mangrove boardwalk and along part of route 1. The specimen station will be setup at the Nature Cove in the Visitor Centre as well.
What will you hear about and see?
Hear stories about the animals, plants and the ecology of mangroves. It will be a rising tide and you will see tree-climbing crabs, mudskippers, drills, Neritas, water monitors, Archer fish, Mullets, Halfbeaks and Garfish. Learn about economic uses of the plants and animals in the region, Mandai mangroves, the invasion of WWII and enjoy the view of Johor.
It's also time for the migratory birds that have winged down from the north and if we are luck, we will see the gems - the resident family of Smooth-coated otters and the crocodile! See photos from the 2005 walk.
Who are your guides?
Ivan, Tammy, Marcus, November, Zeehan, Oi Yee, Airani, Alvin, Adrian, Anand, Kah Meng, Theresa, Paul and Sivasothi (a.k.a. Otterman) - some old hands and a few slightly new ones!
