In celebration of the anniversary of the official opening of Singapore's first wetlands reserve at Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve, the Raffles Museum Toddycats conduct a free guided walk for the public every year.

Who is this walk for?
New visitors to the park, including children.
The relaxing walk will be conducted only within the vicinity of the Visitor Centre - the main bridge, main hide, mangrove boardwalk and part of Route 1 (yellow-boxed area in the map below). A specimen station from the Raffles Museum collections will be situated in the Visitor Centre.
What will you hear about and see?
Hear stories about the animals, plants and the ecology of mangroves. It will be a receding tide and you will see tree-climbing crabs, mudskippers, drills, Neritas, water monitors, Archer fish, Mullets, Halfbeaks and Garfish. Learn about economic uses of the plants and animals in the region, Mandai mangroves, the invasion of WWII and enjoy the view of Johor.
It's also time for the migratory birds that have winged down from the north and if in luck, we will see the gems - the resident family of Smooth-coated otters and the crocodile!

Meeting place and time
Meet at the Visitor Centre of at Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve (SBWR) between 7.30am - 8.30am
on Sun 04 Dec 2011. Take SMRT Bus No 925 from Kranji MRT half-hour earlier to be on time.

Charges
The guided walk is conducted free of charge but the usual entry charges to SBWR apply,
i.e. $1 for adults and 50 cents for children, senior citizens and students.
